Specifically, candidates for this position should have experience designing, deploying, educating, and integrating with local and distance storage replication software from HDS or other storage vendors.Travel associated with this role ranges 60 - 100%.Skill and Knowledge Requirements: Experience designing migrations for complex replication environments for Mainframes using Hitachi Data Systems product line Knowledge of both local and extended distance replication products (TrueCopy Synchronous, TrueCopy Asynchronous , Hitachi Universal Replicator, Shadow Image, FlashCopy, PPRC, GDPS) Experience analysing customer workloads and determine peaks, rolling averages, and interval workloads Ability to analyze Storage performance, identify potential bottlenecks and recommend resolutions Experience presenting complicated technical topics to business leaders Self motivated - proven track record of working well with multiple concurrent work streams Strong technical background in the areas of Mainframe data storage and replication Enterprise storage management (z/OS) with zVM optional Solid operating systems (z/OS) skills with storage configuration (volume management) Knowledge of both local replication products (TrueCopy Synchronous, Shadow Image, FlashCopy, PPRC) 10 years overall storage management experience 5 plus years experience working and supporting large enterprises in the areas of Mainframe storage and storage management Proven ability to provide oversight and leadership to project teams in service delivery Demonstrated ability to guide a complex project from inception through delivery and completion Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including Fibre Channel and TCP/IP Able to create complex functionality using scripts (REXX, Perl, etc) Knowledge of both local and extended distance replication products (TrueCopy Synchronous, TrueCopy Asynchronous, Hitachi Universal Replicator, Shadow Image, FlashCopy, PPRC, GDPS) Experience with collection and review of SMF/RMF performance data Strong group presentation skills and experience providing training to customers. Self motivated - proven track record of working well independently at customer sites Prefer 3 years experience in a technical services organization or working for a vendor Ability to develop Excel scripts/macros for migration planning Excellent customer and employee relationships - must be able to interact successfully with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels in the organization Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
