Operational DBA work focuses on assuring availability, optimizing efficiency, and promoting usability. This person is responsible for: Performance - the optimization of resource usage to increase throughput and minimize contention, enabling the largest possible workload to be processed Administration - day-to-day tasks of keeping databases up and running including change management, reviewing database structures, security and authorization, and like tasks Recovery - backup and recovery is the process of taking appropriate database backups of the appropriate type at the proper time to ensure recoverability There will be on-call rotation with this position. Team Information: The Oracle DBA Team currently has 16 Team Members, not including Leadership. The primary responsibility for this position is partnering with Application Teams in defining data requirements, building logical and physical data models, partnering with the Operational Database Administrators for physical implementation of the models and managing the development Oracle database environment. This team includes both Production and Development DBAs supporting operational and decision support application efforts.
