Position Description:
Systems Engineer's role: Under direct supervision, install, upgrade and configure end user hardware and software. Diagnose and repair all software and hardware problems. Train and support the end users on software. Document all activities per department procedure.

Systems Engineer responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
. Help in the processing of incoming calls to the Help Desk via both telephone and e-mail to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues.
. Provide second level troubleshooting of local and field technical issues reported to the Help Desk.
. Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
. Develop and maintaining desktop software and OS images.
. Monitor and testing fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
. Assist with tracking and analyzing trends in Help Desk requests and generating statistical reports.
. Assess system reconfiguration needs both minor and significant based on request trends and make recommendations.
. Identify, recommend, develop, and implement end user training programs to increase computer literacy and end user awareness.
. On-call rotation responsibilities

Required Technical Experience:
Education / Work Experience:
. MCP or A+ certification; high school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred, One to Two years experience.
Experience should include:
. Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills
. Accurate documentation of solutions, inventory and time
. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills
. Working knowledge of PC hardware and software
. Strong research and problem solving skills
. Ability to work in a project and team oriented environment
. The candidate needs to have some customer service experience and the ability to service external clients and internal clients including management
