Oracle Programmer in Dallas, TX

General Bug Fixes - The Oracle Programmer IIs main role will be to resolve issues that arise during normal business use. This will require troubleshooting skills, ability to navigate multiple platforms at one time as well as providing feedback to the manager. Bugs are reported in an in-house error reporting management tool.

2.Minor Enhancements - In addition to general bug fixes there will be minor enhancements that are required for implementation. These changes will generally take two days or less to accomplish.

3. Writing Reports - Occasionally there is a need from the business for certain types of information that are not readily available through our general reporting tool. With that there will be a need to create adhoc reports from time to time. This may include raw data as well as providing a mechanism for displaying that information.

4. Tier One Support - This includes issue acknowledgement, defining problem being experienced by users and communication to appropriate parties of the situation. There also may be a need for documentation depending on the issue. Off-Hours support will be required.

5. Project Work - Occasionally there may be a need for the Oracle Programmer II to work on a major project. This may include working with a more senior programmer and assisting them in coding less complex parts of the project. The application is a Java J2EE browser-based application using multiple UNIX Application and Weblogic web servers. The 4-Terabyte Oracle Database resides on two multi-processor, UNIX Servers. This application has interfaces from other JCPenney systems that are processed in a nightly batch cycle using UNIX Shell Scripting and PLSQL.

The internally developed application are Mainframe and Windows based applications using a combination of DB2, COBOL, ASP, Visual Basic, and VBA technologies.
