Sr. Systems Administrator - Storage
Successful and growing Fortune 500 company in Irving, TX is looking to add a SAN Storage Administrator to their team of professionals.
Responsibilities:
Participate in operational support and implementation activities for global information technology services.
Provide hi-level technical support to the operations team (when required) during problem situations.
Train and/or coach others on existing and new technologies within the environment.
Prepare system documentation and update operational standards and procedures.
Conduct storage system support design and performance evaluation reviews.
Research and propose new storage technologies, tools, and techniques.
Participate in the development of corporate and divisional information technology strategic and tactical plans.
Identify, assemble, define, and document detailed business and technology storage requirements and convert them into practical plans and designs.
Stay up-to-date on new storage technologies and industry trends that may effect the organization and identify, recommend, and implement improvement opportunities where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

6 years operating systems administration/design experience.

3 years experience managing SAN and NAS storage systems, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and measurements.

3 years experience with multiple storage hardware and software vendors (i.e. - EMC, HP, Hitachi, Symantec/Veritas, Storageworks, etc.)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.

Position Description:Responsibilities

Assess and recommend architectural designs/changes to systems.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and design.

Troubleshooting production systems in a high-availability environment.

Diagnose complex SAN performance issues

Provide support for Microsoft and Linux servers in clustered environments.

Implement and support company security policies and security audits.

Work with other System and Database Administrators to continually improve operational processes, engineering standards and other departmental processes.

Develop SOP documents for full scope of Infrastructure related tasks, process and procedures.

Preferences

MCSE Win2K/Win2K3 Certification

ITIL Foundation Certified (or experience with ISO or CMMI)

Experience in enterprise data center or a multi-site environment.
