This position is part of a team responsible for Installation, Maintenance, Support, Trouble Resolution, Root Cause Analysis and SLA maintenance for a large, enterprise wide LAN / WAN environment. This position is part of a team responsible for Installation, Maintenance, Support, Trouble Resolution, Root Cause Analysis and SLA maintenance for a large, enterprise wide LAN / WAN environment. Education and Typical Years of Experience:
Demonstrated, in-depth, LAN / WAN support & engineering experience (5+ years)
Experience in supporting large, complex LAN / WAN networks in a large, enterprise environment
Superior knowledge, skills & experience with Cisco routing and switching Infrastructure in a multi-Protocol environment.
Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, electrical, UPS, etc.
In-depth experience and talent in using packet / protocol analyzers to identify and remedy application and network performance issues
Positive, proactive, “can do” attitude with the ability to work alone as an individual contributor, as a technical lead when required, and as a participant in a team environment
Willingness to participate in rotating schedules and share on-call duties

Unix Systems Administrator Location : Dallas , TX Duration : 6+ months very strong possibility to go direct 3-5 yrs w/ Linux and Unix 1.5-2 yrs w/ RAC Currently using VER 4 - Red hat HP is critical - as we are fazing out Sun SENIOR UNIX/LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WHAT THIS PERSON WILL DO " Detect, diagnose, and report UNIX and Linux related problems. " Implement and support Oracle RAC on a Linux Red Hat environment. " Responsible for designing, maintaining and troubleshooting Unix/Linux based systems and Network Storage devices along with backup systems and software. " Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for application, OS and Hardware related issues. " Ensure system availability and backups are maintained in accordance to SLAs " Lead projects related to complex system implementation and enhancements. " Work closely with Technical Services Manager to provide on time delivery of projects and tasks. " Document processes, participate in meetings and provide on time weekly reports. WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR " 4 year Degree in a computer related field or additional work experience may be substituted for education requirement " Must have In-depth knowledge of implementing and supporting Oracle RAC. " 3+ years of experience supporting UNIX (preferably Solaris 8, 9 and 10) and Linux based systems (preferably Red Hat) in a data center environment. " Advanced knowledge of HP and Sun hardware " Working knowledge of one or more scripting languages (Perl, Bash, Korn, Shell) " Working knowledge of NetBackup " Must have a high degree of professionalism and a demonstrated enthusiastic attitude " Must be able to work independently, quickly comprehend new technologies, and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently " Must possess superior customer service skills, as well as excellent verbal and written skills

. Oversees and manages all data communications assets. Responsibilities include security, monitoring and reporting on usage and problems, development of specialized data communications programs, capacity planning and equipment utilization data.
. Surveys and identifies areas of operation that need upgraded equipment such as modems, fiber optic cables, and routers.
. Develops and writes procedures for installation, use, and troubleshooting of data communications hardware and software.
