Job Description: This position is responsible for understanding and defining the implementation of OS, database and application monitoring in support of enterprise monitoring. This includes working with business analysts, technicians and customers to design, configure, and implement monitoring and integrate with the Netcool application to support the business needs. The ideal candidate will have 10+ year’s infrastructure experience with 5 years of leadership capabilities and an integral knowledge of all available automation platforms. Having experience in a CMMI level 3+ organization and ITIL understanding and certifications is considered a plus.Position level is dependent on candidate’s level of experience. Essential Duties / Responsibilities · A seasoned technology leader, able to attract, grow and retain top technical talent, and able to build a high-performing technical team · A proven technical leader with a track record leading the delivery of enterprise-class, highly available, highly reliable systems focused on the infrastructure layer of the technology stack · A skilled project manager, capable of simultaneously executing multiple large scale projects · A passionate advocate for customers, who partners with customers to define product requirements and priorities, and who exercises strong business judgment to define product strategy and development priorities · Developing consulting services offerings and pursuing consulting opportunities with existing clients · Drive industry best practices and IT thought leadership in enterprise monitoring · Author and facilitate white papers, by-lined articles, and other thought leadership pieces; speak at tradeshows, conferences, and other events · Overseeing service delivery across all solution lines required to deliver the client solution · Partnering with peer customer service leads to drive effective communication and a positive client experience · Establishing aggressive annual departmental objectives and goals that are in alignment with Applied Systems’ goals to improve customer and employee satisfaction and profitability · Managing personnel including hiring, annual performance evaluations, new employee evaluations, employee training, staffing, and salary administration · Meeting regularly with staff to review progress, issues, accomplishments and areas of concern · Providing monthly reporting on department progress, status on department goals & objectives, concerns, and where applicable actions to complete items by agreed upon dates · Collaborating regularly with management to determine opportunities for additional services to both new and existing customers Primary Experience: · College degree required · 10 + years in Information Technology · 5 + years management experience in outsourcing field · 3 + years experience in consulting or professional services · Services Sales experience desired · Demonstrated experience in crafting business solutions using technology · Demonstrated experience in managing and prioritizing projects, delegation, and follow-up · Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting · Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Secondary Experience: · Experience in Network, Security, Storage or other technical areas. · Change Control, version control, build, and configuration management. · Experience with monitoring tools NetIQ, HP Open View, MOM, Indicative, NimSoft, or Splunk is considered a plus. · ITIL experience, certification preferred.
