Our client located in downtown Dallas has a need for a permanent SQL Server/Oracle DBA.
Job Responsibilities:
. Provide technical and operational database administration for MS SQL 2003/2005/2008, Oracle 8i/9i/10G Server test and production databases.
. Apply database knowledge in the areas of physical database design, performance and tuning, backup and recovery procedures and general problem resolution.
. Support multiple servers and multiple databases of high complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of the data
. Develop, implement, and monitor standards and procedures to ensure optimum performance, scalability and reliability.
. Review all investigations, analysis, and resolution of database problems; compile and maintain documentation.
. Maintain and improve database deployment and update processes.
. Ensure compliance in related tasks with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
. Provide 24/7 support for critical systems
Experience: . 5-7 years of SQL Server and Oracle experience required.
. Experience with SQL 2000, 2005, and 2008
. Database design/ Data Modeling experience required
. Knowledge of database security, system tuning and monitoring, database development, data modeling and optimization, capacity planning, and business continuity.
. Proficiency in Backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
. Proficiency in building database schemes, tables, procedures and permissions
. Hands on administration of Oracle database environments, OLTP or VLDB experience preferred
. Core DBA tasks for Database Administration SQL and in an Oracle 9i, 10g stand alone and Oracle RAC environment, including Dataguard setup and support, 11gR2 is a plus
. 5 years experience administering Windows/Linux/UNIX server and maintaining patch management, upgrades, security and documentation
. Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems and PL/SQL programming
. Understand Sarbanes Oxley policies
. Programming languages such as VB.Net, ASP.Net, XHTML,XML IIS, Crystal Reports
