The Software Engineer provides GE MapFrame application development and configuration services to clients and internal development teams. *Delivers solutions to clients. *Demonstrates and promotes excellence in all aspects of development. Including design, coding standards, testing and documentation. *Participates in regular project meetings. *Demonstrates strong technical writing and communication skills through participation in statement of work and functional requirement customer write-ups, customer and project management status calls, submission of technical documentation for development work, draft and review of end user documentation. *Participates in the design, development of customer projects using MapFrame application configurations, GIS/CIS/DMS extractions tools and methodologies, and appropriate programming languages. *Participates in the development of testing and training materials and supports and/or performs testing, training, and application deployment tasks for client.\r\n Signature: ~HJ~~CB~ \r\n \r\n Qualifications \r\n * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography / Cartography, Mathematics, or Engineering. * At least one year of software engineering experience. \r\n Desired \r\n \r\n *Proficient in C++ (with Microsoft development experience). *Ability to think outside the box. *Experience with spatial data or GIS. *Experience in C++, MFC, Visual Studio, Windows Mobile, SQL *Experience in commercial software applications *Experience in delivering / configuring business and/or workgroup applications *Experience in GIS / spatial data environments: ESRI, GE Smallworld, Intergraph, and/or Autodesk. *Experience in field crew automation for electric, gas, telecommunications, or cable operations. *Knowledge of work management applications from MDSI (Ventyx), Viryanet, LogicaCMG, CGI, Indus, @Road. * MBA \r\n General \r\n \r\n *This is an opportunity to play on a highly innovative technology field with strong team support. *GE MapFrame is a fast growing, mobile mapping company with high profile clients and a friendly, supportive work environment.
