Administrator - Linux Red Hat in Dallas, TX

This Dallas based company is growing, adding staff, and is not being affected by today's economy! They have a need for a Linux Network Engineer to provides technical Red Hat expertise for the successful architecture, design, implementation, and to support Linux strategies to meet the business needs of the company. Candidate will design and plan the implementation, optimization and operation of Red Hat systems and investigates methods to improve efficiencies. Candidate will be responsible for having meetings with Executives, Directors, business unit managers, and analysts developing and supporting various core applications. You will be responsible for Planning, designing and installation of servers (Red Hat), troubleshooting, patching, and maintenance of servers. Performance tuning, using built in OS functions and external/3rd party tools. Planning, Installations and maintenance of volumes and file systems leveraging native tools. Linux Administrator identifies, documents, resolves and communicates solutions and system problems to users. Ensures system efficiency and security. Candidate must be comfortable working in a self-directed team, you will be expected to be task-oriented and meet and exceed project and team deliverables. Technical Skills: . Over 7+ years of Information Technology experience.. At least 3+ years as a Linux Red Hat Architect / Administrator; experience. working with Linux RED HAT in a LARGE enterprise environment. . Planning, designing and installation of servers (Red Hat). Troubleshooting, patching, and maintenance of servers. . Performance tuning, using built in OS functions and external/3rd party tools. . Planning, Installations and maintenance of volumes and file systems leveraging native tools. . RAID configurations and SAN/NAS knowledge. . Familiarity of EMC Storage subsystems, clones, BCV, and PowerPath technology. . Security Implementation (configurations, Patching, etc). . Windows 2003 and up Server Experience, including AD, GPO, DFS. . Strong analytical abilities required to interact with customers to evaluate work and provide technical assistance. . Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks;. Proactive personality with a proven track record of delivering on responsibilities and tasks.. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and strong presentation skills.
Experience: Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Management, or related field in order to provide consultative and technical expertise to customers.
