Licensed Penetration Tester with Cyber Security in Dallas, TX

Must live in the DFW area. No third parties please. Job Description: Our client is a premier provider of network and application vulnerability assessments and penetration testing services to commercial customers. We are interested in expanding our penetration testing team to address a growing volume of work. This would be a dynamic position supporting multiple customers with a typical penetration testing engagement. We are looking for individuals passionate about cyber security that frequently spend non-work hours researching exploits and vulnerabilities, reading security community sites and blogs, and experimenting with and writing exploits. The candidate should be a self-starter who is highly motivated and willing to learn a constantly evolving skill set. The position may require travel in excess of 30%. Candidates should be willing to travel at least 30% of the time. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent and 4+ years of related experience. 2-3 working in the cyber security field huge plus. CISSP is not required, although it is a plus. Certified Ethical Hacker Certification is required.Licensed Penetration Tester Certification is required.Required Skills: Candidates should have a strong understanding of networking, operating system, and application security. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience performing penetration testing of both infrastructure elements (eg, Windows/Linux operating systems, Oracle/SQL servers, firewalls, routers, switches, etc.) as well as Web applications and their associated platforms (eg, J2EE, .Net, Apache, IIS, Websphere, etc.). Candidates should also possess an in-depth understanding of ethical penetration test methodologies and best practices. Excellent verbal and writing skills are a must as well as the ability to write clear and concise assessment reports. Desired Skills: Software development experience with Scripting languages such as PERL and Python. C++, C#, .Net, ActiveX and Java programming experience is desirable. Preferred experience with commercial penetration testing and auditing tools such as Tenable*s Nessus, Core Impact, Retina, WebInspect, and AppDetective; as well as open source tools such as Nmap, Nikto, Paros, Burp, and Metasploit. Desired Experience:Prior experience as a DBA is desirable but not required. Administration and configuration of network devices would be beneficial. Familiarity with the federal government certification and accreditation process, NIST guidance, and industry best practice standards for securing systems is also desirable.
