Network Engineer in Dallas, TX
Must be local to Dallas Fort Worth, TX and no third parties please.The network engineer is a member of the IT support team providing Tier II and Tier III level software, hardware, and network support. He or she is responsible for addressing customer support calls for IT related problems, providing call resolution, and managing client network infrastructures.Job Duties Include:* Proactively manage and setup client network infrastructures * Provide general LAN/WAN administration tasks * Performs hardware and software evaluations and make recommendations * Performs application compatibility/interoperability testing/application packaging * Performance Tuning and Monitoring for the desktop and server environment * Develop and maintain documentation required to support the network infrastructure * Provide ad-hoc IT maintenance support, troubleshoot, monitor and resolve desktop PC and server issues remotely * PC setup, re-image, hand load OS, application installation and software break/fix for PCs * Add new systems to the backup/restore environment as required * Adjust and maintain backup/restore job or script to correct or prevent problems * Identify system outages and ensure appropriate notifications are sent to customers* Support on call assignment as scheduledRequirements:* Exceptional customer service skills * Microsoft MCSE certification required * Must have experience utilizing remote control software to troubleshoot and resolve PC desktop support issues.* Minimum five years experience in a desktop and server support environment. * Hands on experience of network infrastructure environment (ie LAN/WAN) * Hands on experience with Microsoft or Linux Servers* Degree in computer science, management information systems or similar preferred * Experienced in deploying OS installation via scripted, unattended methods, Sysprep, Ghost, and other imaging methods. * Experience with Solar Winds Orion network tool suite (must have)Required Technology Experience (Experience with 2 or more of the following):* Windows 2003/2008 in an enterprise environment* Citrix or Windows Server 2008 Terminal Services* Exchange 2003/2007 * Active Directory* Switches, Routers and Firewalls (Cisco, Extreme, Checkpoint, Sonicwall)* VMware ESXi* Solar Winds OrionNice to have, but not required* Kaseya network management and automation* ActiveXperts network monitoring* Trend Micro Antivirus* e-DMZ access control* Symantec NetBackup* Desktop Authority ScriptLogics* Asterisk VOIP Phone Systems* Barracuda Spam Firewalls* Citrix or VMware certificationsPerformance Expectations:* Establish communication with the client within the defined SLA to notify client of ticket receipt * Monitor tickets for priority and due date* Verify all required ticketing fields are kept up to date and accurate. eg contract, due date, time, notifications, allocation code etc.* Notify client on every ticket through the ticketing system to keep them updated through the process* Keep all projects/tasks up to date at all times* If you are the lead tech on a project, enter your weekly project update under the notes section* Ask for help if you run into problems that you cannot solve so you do not waste time or create problems* Do not make solution/technical recommendations to clients without reviewing with technical management* Respond to on call issues within the defined on call SLA* Test all hardware/software solutions thoroughly before implementing in a client production environmentWork Environment:* 8:00A-6:00P workday* On-call rotation * Fast pace and challenging* Strong learning environment where you are given the opportunity to grow technically To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
