eConsultAmerica is a preferred vendor supplier on retainer with a multi-billion dollar, global provider of consulting services. Our client is seeking an experienced and savvy IT Architect. This position will be based in Albuquerque, NM. This is a long-term contact not to exceed 6 months. POSITION DETAILSCandidate will develop and present weekly status reports to agency via e-mail for review and approval. Candidate will present status to project team at regularly scheduled project meetings called by agency through agency IT management. Candidate will review and assess application Security on client/server and web infrastructure to evaluate agency needs for application security training related to changes in application development. Candidate will document analysis and requirements to address application security deficiencies in a weekly report. Candidate will make recommendations to mitigate design risks in new system development design used for future architectures. These recommendations will include draft and final versions via e-mail in weekly reports. Candidate will evaluate agency's existing infrastructure and make recommendations on compatibility of existing applications to an industry standard infrastructure for sharing data sets via web services. The contractor will report the recommendations via e-mail on a weekly report. Propose an IT research and development business unit staffing structure to address and lead new agency architectural standards and present to agency IT management via e-mail in weekly reports for review and approval. Design, build, and implement a new architectural platform infrastructure prototype. The new architecture should be structured around platform independence. Present design documents to agency for review and approval. Demonstrate prototype functionality to agency for review and approval to include server configurations, platforms, and communication protocol between AIX servers, agency databases including DB2, MS SQL and new architectural platform servers using web services. Build a relational database prototype to assess compatibility with existing agency infrastructure. Submit a summary of the resulting assessment on e-mail in weekly status report. Candidate will meet with business unit subject matter experts within UI Claims, UI Tax, Interactive Active Voice Response, and Industrial relations to identify high-level tasks currently used to capture and process external client data to agency. Assess and report on alternatives for replacing legacy processes through a new architectural platform. Submit assessment results in weekly reports. Candidate will work with agency web developers to inventory agency methods and processes for web application development. Based on this set of meetings/interviews, contractor will make training recommendations for subject areas including Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, relational database design, development and administration, programming language needs, and XML experience. Candidate will report finding in weekly status report. Candidate will design and present to agency a prototype data reporting tool using an Architecture approved by agency.The design will include recommendations for interactive, parameter-based data mining, online business intelligence, along with reporting and reporting format recommendations. Report categories will include but not be limited to management level summary reports and business unit transaction production statistics reports.BEST INDUSTRY – GovernmentBEST DEPARTMENT – IS/IT Experience: Bachelors Degree is highly preferred or equivalent experience is required.3 – 5 years of IT systems architecture experience.Sound and strong verbal communication skills are essential with this role.
