DB2 DBA #929 in Dallas, TX

Our client is seeking a qualified individual for their contract to hire opportunity. We are not seeking assistence from third party vendors and only those candidates who are eligible to becom permanent employees should apply.

We are currently seeking a Senior DB2 UDB Database Administrator to join our Information Technology department!

Major responsibilities:

Support, maintain, and manage enterprise-level databases DB2 UDP, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.

Responsible for installing, configuring, and customizing Siebel application environments.

Manages the migration process of repositories for the development, QA, and production environments.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 5+ years production support DBA experience with Siebel support experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Proficient knowledge and experience with DB2 UDB on Unix (AIX is preferred).

Solid background in Microsoft Windows.

Provide pro-active ongoing database administration including installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, backup/recovery, monitoring and tuning.

Solid troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills.

Proficient SQL skills for the purpose support and tuning required.

Providing production on-call support on a rotating basis.

Understanding of relevant issues, facilitating faster resolution of all production problems.

Ability to follow through on tasks from start to finish with a minimum of direct supervision.

Will take ownership of all assigned projects and related issues.

Ability to multitask well under pressure and tight deadlines.

Desired skills:
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle 9i/10g RAC and Microsoft Access.

Familiarity with Siebel administration, Siebel database schema, EIM process and repository migration.
