Hardware Purchasing Specialist in Dallas, TX

An intermediate-level professional, the Purchasing Specialist is a fully qualified individual producer who applies a broad working in-depth knowledge of procurement concepts, policies, practices and procedures. Incumbent works under general direction of the Manager of Purchasing and may supervise activities of less experienced purchasing associates and clerical support staff. Errors at this level may cause some delay, expense, and/or disruption to the organization. Provides day-to-day professional and administrative functions in the procurement of moderately complex and valuable materials, supplies, and equipment. REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Broad knowledgeable of established commercial procurement practices, i.e. how to get competitive quotes, and negotiate best pricing from vendors. Assist in preparing, issuing, and processing Request for Quotations (RFQ) from vendors. Ability to solicit less complex bids, analyze quotes, and provide input during vendor selection. Ability to work with vendors to resolve issues that include delivery, quality, deadlines, and invoicing. Ability to review, comment, and negotiate purchase order related documents including but not limited to software license agreements, maintenance and service agreements. Process and issue purchase orders in a timely fashion. Ability to work with other ACS' staff elements particularly contracts and accounts payable to help complete the ordering process.
