Salary: $75K-$90K salary + 30% Benefits Package
Job Summary:
The Senior Software Developer's role is to design, execute, assess, and troubleshoot software programs and applications. This includes configuring, coding, developing, and documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle. The Software Developer will also oversee system maintenance in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide support to other departments where required.
Job Responsibilities:
. Collaborate with analysts and designers in the development and initiation of new software programs and applications.
. Research, document, and implement program requirements and specifications.
. Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
. Oversee the quality assurance of program logic, data processing, and error resolution.
. Run and monitor performance tests on new and existing software for the purposes of correcting mistakes, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
. Develop an awareness of programming and design alternatives.
. Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application development best practices.
. Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, programmers, and other software engineers to resolve any defects in products or company systems.
. Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed.
. Recommend, schedule, and perform application improvements and upgrades.
. Train, manage and provide guidance to junior software development staff.
Job Requirements:
. Four-year college diploma or university degree in software engineering or computer science.
. 6-10 years overall experience and 4+ years of hardcore .Net development in an enterprise environment.
. C#, ASP.Net
. SQL Server 2000 (Transact SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers)
. Data Modeling
. XML
. UML (Use Cases, Cross Functional Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, etc.)
. Understanding and execution of an industry standard methodology (RUP, Extreme Programming, etc.)
. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
. Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
. Microsoft IIS 6
. Windows 2000/2003 Server
. Health insurance industry experience is a plus
. Ready to take the next step to .Net Architect (General understanding of all Microsoft Offerings)
. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
. Strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills.
. Team Player
. Highly logical, self motivated and directed and keen attention to detail.
. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
