This client is seeking a full time employee as a Hyperion Essbase Administrator / Developer to provide technical expertise for the successful design and implementation of their Enterprise Budget/Planning and Reporting Business Intelligence environments. This Employee designs and plans the implementation, optimization and operation of Business Intelligence systems and investigates methods to improve efficiencies. This is a full time position!
In this role, this Hyperion Essbase professional partners with executives and management to determine budget/planning business needs and implements effective enterprise-wide reporting strategies. Additionally, you will plan, manage, mentor, and lead the Business Intelligence team within the Enterprise! You will be responsible for the full life cycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of the planning and budgeting modules and reporting needs. You will design complex OLAP configurations to maximize the sharing of applications, information and resources across the company. Utilizes the Hyperion Essbase environment to ensure effective use of the installed technology. Investigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies and enhances operational performance. Provides strategic planning and technical support to determine the reporting business needs throughout the company.
You will interact with various functional department teams, project managers, and senior management. This role also researches new technologies to improve efficiencies with technology. Performs business case studies to justify the need for technology. Provides ongoing information to management, peers and customers regarding enhancements and innovations.
You should be experienced in analyzing, defining, and documenting data requirements, and reporting needs from existing budgeting and planning processes. You should also be able to identify and define data sourcing, business rules, and transformation logic for next phases of the Project.

Key Objectives:
-- Lead the Hyperion Business Intelligence team to successful delivery of projects;
-- Perform day-to-day Hyperion Essbase administration and programming functions;
- Create customized Essbase budget/planning applications (planning for income statements, balance sheet, workforce planning, cash flow, cost of sales planning, capital expenditures, and project planning)
-- Create reports and reporting environments of data from ERP applications.
-- Programming in SQL to perform the data query functions.
-- Implement the strategic plan for support of future company information requirements.
-- Support effective and efficient business processes in partnership with other software and reporting development teams.
-- Identify ownership and accountability for enterprise reporting information.
-- Ensure that information needs and business rules are in compliance with enterprise policies and standards.
-- Participate in evaluating new technologies to ensure the continuity and advancement of data and technology architecture within company information needs.
-- Build a framework for accurately capturing, sharing, distributing, securing, and leveraging company data resources.
Minimum Technical Requirements:
-- 7+ years Information Technology experience.
-- 5+ years experience in a RDBMS programming environment, Oracle preferred.
-- 3+ years experience in as a Hyperion Essbase Database administration / development (version 9.x preferred).
-- 2+ years experience in performance tuning Essbase Reports.
-- Exposure to Hyperion Budget and Planning implementation
-- Strong background in structured systems and data analysis.
-- Demonstrated ability with JAD and RAD methodologies.
-- Expertise in relational database design (normalized and dimensional).
-- Skilled with one or more data modeling CASE tools (e.g., ERwin, SilverRun, LBMS, S-Designor).
-- Proficient with MS Office suite.
Required:
-- Strong ability to work with business units to formulate business and data requirements.
-- Ability to work with other database administrators to complete database designs and models.
-- Highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills dedicated to completing tasks on schedule.
Desired:
-- Experience optimizing views and databases within the Hyperion Essbase environment.
-- Have experience working with other Business Intelligence software (Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategies, Crystal Reports) applications.
-- Experienced working with an Enterprise Integration project(s).
-- Knowledge of Unix a plus.
Education:
-- BS or BA, desirable.
