SQL Server DBA who will design & maintain relational DB in DALLAS, TX

Our client is seeking a SQL Server DBA who will design and maintain relational databases in both logical and physical data models, the DBA will provide support of ongoing systems, monitors performance, and ensures data integrity through established processes and procedures. The DBA codes, tests, debug, documents and installs new programs/technologies of a complex nature in order to provide quality information technology to user departments. The DBA's primary responsibilities is as follows but not limited to: performs relational database system design and modeling, develops required databases and front-end access for SQL Server 2000/2005, converts Access databases to SQL format, will provide technical training and orientation as requested to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge and develops standards and procedures relative to data integrity and access. The DBA in cooperation with technical support and operations staffs, prepares application software procedures and documentation for usage, operation, back-up and recovery, problem resolution, shut-down and initialization, and process automation; tests application software to assure accuracy, integrity, interoperability and completeness to achieve established best practices of backup and recovery of data; monitors database performance statistics, analyzes reasons for failure, recommends improvements and revise assigned programs and /or procedures as necessary; translates business requirements into a technical solution and articulates both to a wide audience; plans and maintains system to ensure long term capacity needs and data volumes of the organization are met; guides database administration such as implementation and maintenance of all relational database project applications, performs database programming, to include system tuning, performance monitoring and database maintenance. The DBA will be the liaison between third-party vendors and technical staff for all database related issues. The DBA will/stays abreast of industry trends and products; may be required to provide 24/7 support as needed.<br/><br/>All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. Experience: The DBA must have a Bachelors Degree in MIS, Computer Science, a related field or equivalent; a minimum 3 years experience working with MS Access. Minimum 3 years experience working with SQL Server 2000/2005; must be willing to learn other relational databases as required; must have working knowledge of Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista, Microsoft Access, SQL and relational database concepts; must be experienced in Object Oriented programming; work well in a team environment, have excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
