Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Perform as technical migration lead for hardware/software for Enterprise Unix and Windows systems located in a data center. Implements and maintains systems.
2. Under general direction of the project manager and Sr. Solutions Architect, formulate and define specifications for complex operating systems and Healthcare programming applications and modify complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer.
3. Assist in the establishment of migration methodology and execute migrations to that methodology.
4. Establish a baseline for monitoring and monitor performance of servers during the migration. Isolates, corrects and improves operational efficiency through changes to the software or reconfiguration of the hardware.
5. Manage projects under the guidance of seasoned Project and program managers. Provides technical deliverables to Project Manager and/or Solution Architect using formal PM methodologies.
6. Work with customers, management, contracted consultants, other support teams and systems vendors in planning, designing and specifying system requirements for migrations.
7. Perform as technical migration lead for hardware/software for Enterprise Unix and Generates, installs, implements and maintains systems-level software packages running on Windows servers. These software packages include: healthcare applications, databases (SQL) and other utilities.
8. Provide technical support in the installation, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of hardware, operating system and applications within assigned areas of responsibility
9. Assist in the guidance of other full-time and Consultant staff focused on Datacenter Migrations.
10. Design and integrate Windows, (Some Unix, Linux Systems) and with SAN. Understands latest technologies and assists in working with Vendors and support teams to bring the hardware/software to the latest version/revision (patches, hot fixes, service packs, etc)
11. Develop, install and maintains utility programs/scripts to handle system level functions that may aid during data center migration.
12. Analyze and then migrate applications dealing with the overall operating system, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, large telecommunications networks, computer accounting and advanced mathematical/scientific software packages
13. Establish a baseline for monitoring and monitor performance of servers during the migration. Isolates, corrects and improves operational efficiency through changes to the software or reconfiguration of the hardware.
14. Work with service engineers, vendor software support personnel and other vendor hardware/software specialists in isolating and resolving hardware and software problems.
Experience: 1. Understands backup/restore procedures and processes.
2. Designs and integrates Windows, (Some Unix, Linux Systems) and with SAN.
3. Previous experience working with vendors and support teams to bring the hardware/software to the latest version/revision (patches, hot fixes, service packs, etc)
4. Requires expertise with Windows and PC software programs including Outlook and Exchange, Microsoft Office suite, and other standard packages
5. Understanding of LAN/WAN Network including Cisco routers and switches (TCP/IP).
6. Experienced in VMware and Virtual environments. Understands VMotion or other technologies for migration of virtual instances.
7. Ability to develop, install and maintains utility programs/scripts to handle system level functions that may aid during data center migration.
8. Represents as technical lead in change management meetings.
9. Evaluates and makes recommendations for new computer hardware and/or software systems.
10. Required to provide on-call support and work off-shifts as necessary for migrations
11. Evaluates and makes recommendations for new computer hardware and/or software systems.
12. Provide training to other staff members as required
