Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer/Web Tester - in Dallas, TX

The Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer/Web Tester is responsible for testing and verifying Web software applications prior to launch, as well working on quality assurance projects to completion, in a deadline sensitive environment consisting of cutting edge Microsoft Web development and SQL database technologies. Create test plans, test cases, scopes, use HP Quality Center (the new Test Director), and automate load tests with Load Runner, automation with Quick Test Pro (QTP), status reports, and post launch reports, as well as plan for and execute manual Web testing. Basic SQL queries will be written and used by qualify testers to validate data. RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide Web testing and SQA for database-driven Web and windows software applications, while working as part of a QA team, and working closely with development and other groups. Assist with each particular project in coordinating test execution, and reporting of test results. The SQA Engineer is responsible for the daily activities of assigned project. Provides scopes, test plan, and test cases to the QA Manager and all QA team members involved in the project. Present test plans and test cases to the QA team. Participate in functional test reviews pertaining to the projects. Ensure that the quality assurance process is being followed and identify areas of risk to the applications. Ensure Web interface usability and the customer experience of the Web interface is covered in all test cases and test plans. Identify defects, functionality flaws or defects, test for load or performance. Required Skills:QUALIFICATIONS: Education (minimum required): BS or BA degree in MIS, CIS, or a related business field, or comparable experience. Experience (minimum required): 5 years of Web software applications testing or web-enabled software testing (preferably robust Internet applications that carry large numbers of users online concurrently, prefer experience testing Websites with complex interfaces, complex middle-tier and complex database backends, that are available via the world wide web) as a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer, Software Quality Assurance Analyst, or related experience in Web software quality assurance and software testing. Basic knowledge of SQL including to write basic SQL queries with SQL Server, including SQL Select Statements, or ability to write basic SQL queries is required. Experience with HP Quality Center, (Test Director), and Load Runner (or other load testing tools) and Quick Test Pro (or other automation tools such as Winrunner). Able to express complex technical and non-technical concepts effectively both verbally and in writing. May write basic C# or C programs to automate testing. Preferred Skills: C# or C education, knowledge or experience, to create tools or write test automation programs to test C# or C . Financial or investments or securities trading software applications quality assurance and testing.
