MAINFRAME STORAGE MIGRATION CONSULTANTS - Hitachi Data Systems Exp in Dallas, TX

Contract openings across US, requires anywhere from 60-100% travel. Responsible for delivery of HDS storage services according to a statement of work. This spans all layers of IT infrastructure including hardware, software, networking, and applications. The Technical Consultant will be responsible for leading customers through the deployment of HDS storage replication technologies including implementation, deployment, customization, and training.Travel associated with this role ranges 60 - 100%.Required Skills and Experience:Strong technical background in the MAINFRAME data storage and replication including extensive HDSEnterprise storage management (z/OS) with zVM optionalSolid operating systems (z/OS) skills with storage configuration (volume management)Knowledge of remote storage migration (HDS- TrueCopy Asynchronous, IBM-PPRC, IBM -XRC)Experience with collection and review of SMF/RMF performance dataSolid understanding of networking fundamentals including Fibre Channel and TCP/IPAble to create complex functionality using scripts (REXX, Perl, etc) Proven ability to provide oversight and leadership to project teams in service deliveryDemonstrated ability to guide a complex project from inception through delivery and completionA minimum of 7 years of Storage Management experience with at least 4 years HDS specific3 years experience in a technical services organizationPrefer 3 years technical industry experience working at a vendor - a plusAbility to develop Excel scripts/macros for migration planningStrong group presentation skills and experience providing training to customers.Excellent customer and employee relationships - must be able to interact successfully with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels in the organizationExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to write project status reports, management escalation documentation, and service planning and definition informationPay rate varies from $60.00 to $80.00 per hour depending on experience level and length of contract.
