Position Title: IT Project Manager
JCPenney Home Office, Plano, TX
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a team of 8-12 Information Technology associates and contractors in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining business software applications
2. Provide hands-on technical leadership in all design, development, and implementation tasks associated with projects.
3. Effectively communicate with the business areas when defining the requirements to solve business problems and during all phases of a project.
4. Effectively communicate with IT support departments and IT management.
Qualifications:
1. 5+ years programming experience and proficiency in Java is required.
2. 5+ years of database experience with a relational database system and proficiency in SQL is required.
3. 3+ years of increasing management experience that includes responsibility for formally assessing associate performance
4. Strong analytical skills, be able to identify and resolve technical challenges.
5. Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly.
6. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
7. Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimum supervision.

Knowledge or experience in any of the following:
A. Weblogic
B. MVS Operating System
C. Unix Sun Solaris operating system
D. Unix shell scripting
E. Oracle
F. DB2
G. VB.Net
