Sr. Network Engineer
My client is seeking a Sr. Cisco Network Engineer for a permanent position in Dallas, TX. The rate is negotiable depending on experience but it will be from $100,000 to $110,000
Job Description
Responsible for designing, configuring, installing and maintaining the network infrastructure while providing quality and efficient network administration support, monitoring the data communications to ensure network is available to all users, as well as lead projects and troubleshoot a full range of network related issues
. This position requires knowledge in routing and WAN technologies with an emphasis on VoIP and QoS(Quality of Service).
The successful candidate will also be responsible for LAN technologies including load balancing, Access Points and Switches.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
. Configuration, troubleshooting and administration of Cisco Switches,
Routers, Firewalls
. Network design (from conception through implementation, including routing
protocol upgrades, VoIP and network migrations
. Configuration, troubleshooting and administration of HP Procurve switches
. Configuration, troubleshooting and administration of Cisco's VOIP
technologies
. Significant knowledge of Cisco's VOIP technologies and architectures
required
. Design, organize, and lead any required system integration efforts required
for VoIP implementation, deployment and troubleshooting
. Network Security - Firewalls, Intrusion detection, incident response and
escalation, security policy articulation and compliance checking
. Monitor network traffic and provide timely response to critical warnings
and alerts
. Strong problem-solving and logical analysis skills, as well as strong
technical background
. Strong documentation and/or technical writing skills
. Strong working knowledge of technologies including MPLS, Dynamic routing,
Point to Point connections
. Configure new switches with appropriate VLANS
. IP allocations/subnets
. Dos and DDoS attack response
. Utilize network and security monitoring tools to provide in depth analysis,
mitigation of vulnerability, and traffic management
. Troubleshooting internal and external routing problems.
. Diagnosing, isolating and replacing failing networking and VoIP components
. Develop and Maintain network documentation and operational process
documentation
. OnCall Rotation with other team members
An ideal candidate will have:
. Experience in LAN protocols such as VLANs, 802.1q trunking, spanning-tree,
HSRP
. Very strong VoIP and IP Telephony experience
. Experience with IPCC and IPCC Express is a major plus.
. Experience in designing and implementing converged networks which should
include the following: IP, MPLS, Gigabit Ethernet, VoIP, and Wireless-based
technology
. Ability to design enterprise network routing architectures using protocols
such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP and static routes.
. Strong ability to troubleshoot complex multi-vendor network issues in the
LAN and WAN networks.
. Knowledge of Quality of Service, IPSec, Multicast and load balancing
techniques are also essential
. Experienced in F5 Load balancing solutions
. Experience with Cisco security MARS desired
. Experienced in enterprise firewall design, implementation, and maintenance
. Experienced in CallManager 4.0, CallManager Express, Unity 4.0, and Unity
Express.
. Strong background in network security
Experienced in a 24x7 SLA environment
Cisco certification desired; preferably CCIE
