Our client's IT division is a leading software development center. They are known for setting standards in rapid software development techniques to include XP Programming, TDD around the Agile framework.
They utilize the newest and state of the art development and technology practices and frameworks.
These include Agile, XP and TDD. The applications that are developed are extremly complex with the highest trasactional volumes in the world. The Agile manifesto here is based on customer satisfaction by rapid, continuous delivery of useful software . TDD mindset here is to make software more modularized, flexible, and extensible code.
Sofware is developed and supported globally around various offshore development centers in the world that include Poland, India and Dublin. All global initiatives are based on the TDD and Agile frameworks around XP techniques. Recently an initiative was started whereby all development teams will utilize TDD and Agile to full extent possible.
Job Responsibilities:
Primarily responsiible for mentoring C++ development teams in TDD (test-driven development).
Able to design, code, test and debug highly complex software. Provides strategic direction to the organization.
Coaches and mentors teams in refactoring, automated acceptance testing, and continuous integration (CI).
Works hands-on with teams; pairs with developers and QA.
Provides occasional classroom training.
Interacts on a continual basis with entire project teams, all levels of management, and customers.
Apply XP and agile practices in a pragmatic manner.
The desire and ability to provide hands-on coaching and mentoring.
Travel:
Some travel to Poland, India, Dublin perhaps once a year.
Experience: Required Skills:
A passion for applying TDD and Agile practices!!.
The desire and ability to provide hands-on coaching and mentoring.
1-3 Years experience with Agile Development and Agile techniques.
2+ Years experience with TDD Development and TDD techniques.
Strong software development experience.
Exposure to C++.
We will consider strong experience in other languages (possibly Java, C#) only for candidates that demonstrate strong TDD and OO design skills.
Compensation:
The best in town with full benefits!!.
The job starts as a contract role then switches to full time.
Contract rates are $75+ W2.
On switching full time - salary is $115+ for the right person!!!!.
