Job Responsibilities:
Perot Systems is seeking a Configuration Specialist to support the PERADIGM application. This person must have demonstrated strong abilities in configuring multiple modules of claims payment systems for healthcare payers. The person is responsible for gathering/ documenting configuration, interface, and reporting requirements to support operation and client needs for one or more of the main PERADIGM modules, such as pricing, benefits, or capitation. The specialist is experienced in interpreting schedules of benefits, provider contract agreements, and/or industry standard reimbursement schedules in order to perform system configuration. The specialist uses the requirements and documentation to design the system configuration required to meet the identified needs. Responsibilities include testing configuration, obtaining client approval and post production validation. Duties include writing and running queries to extract data directly from the PERADIGM database to identify claims for adjustment or identify needed system updates. Records extracted from the database are also used to prepare data to load directly into the system. The configuration specialist documents policies, procedures, decisions made, and obtains client approval of the decisions. The configuration specialist tracks requests, both internal and client generated, reports status on the requests, responds to questions regarding the system configuration, documenting procedures and testing results. Testing and implementing new application functionality is also required. This person researches and troubleshoots application errors, responds to general customer inquiries of the application capabilities.
The Configuration Specialist works closely with the other members of the configuration team, the client and the operation team. Other general duties include: serving as the customer interface for application support, developing and executing Quality Assurance test plans, coordinating User Acceptance testing and evaluating proposed product functionality.
Excellent customer interface skills and the ability to effectively communicate with department leaders is required. Ability to function independently and as a team player. A self starter - must be able to multi-task and handle multiple ongoing projects. Candidates must demonstrate tenacity for application problem-solving and a solid work ethic.
Required Skills:
3+ yrs payer system configuration, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility for multiple system modules
2+ yrs provider contract and/or membership benefits configuration
2+ yrs experience with interpreting schedules of benefits, pricing contract arrangements, using industry standard coding, including CPTs and ASCs, to guide configuration decisions
2+ yrs experience with a data extract tool
Application troubleshooting and strong analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of database table structure and data types
Advanced skills on Microsoft Word and Excel
Desired Skills:
2+ yrs healthcare business background in configuring multiple modules in DIAMOND 950 or PERADIGM
Experience analyzing claims for billing trends for configuration solutions
Strong math skills
PL/SQL Developer experience for analyzing system data
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
