Job Description:
Availability Assurance Architect to deliver availability assurance solution for Geographic Enterprise Solution (GES) to Client.
The job requires the creation of key deliverables and direction to impacted project and infrastructure teams.
. Lead Proof of Concept (POC) that will be a replica of actual solution that will be deployed at a Frito-Lay Plant Site. The main purpose of the POC is mitigating risks, assist application teams with porting from HP/UX to LINUX, and deliver VMWare sizing recommendations.
. Define, drive and execute proofs of concept conducting performance test on high risk database and I/O intensive systems in a VMWare environment.
. Define a vendor certified deployment platform for shared applications, infrastructure applications, and business application components packaged into a Windows or Linux build on VMWare, down to the patch and version level of each component and supporting software (i.e. Java, JRE).
. Define a repeatable migration process including steps and considerations for applications porting to Linux on a VMWare environment.
. Deliver a roadmap that details what actions need to be implemented for migration of applications and services to the new environment.
. Work with the application teams to build the migration plans.
. Define a repeatable build on top of the existing certified build that will be used for deployments to (test, user acceptance, and production).
. Deliver sizing recommendations for VMWARE virtual partitions based on application footprint.
. Prepare and Present architecture to Enterprise Architecture, CTO and CIO levels.

7. Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems.
8. Familiar with Intel-based server platforms.
9. Familiar with architecting and designing virtualization solutions (VMWare ESXServer).
10. Familiar with storage array architectures.
11. Background in application Integration vendors, e.g. TIBCO.
12. Background in J2EE application architecture and design.
13. Familiar with DB2 (32 and 64 bit) and Oracle 10 and 11.
14. Background in systems management products Background in scripting languages.
15. Fortune 100 experience.
16. Strong Leadership skills.
17. Conduct Performance Testing.

. B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline . 5-10 years of experience as an architect
