Programmer - Visual Fox Pro in Dallas, TX

Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS) is expertise in action?. We are a FORTUNE 500 company with 63,000 employees worldwide supporting client operations reaching more than 100 countries. We provide business process outsourcing and information technology solutions to world-class commercial and government clients. Our employees operate with integrity, and are flexible, reliable and responsive.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibility for support and development of our core products. Currently using classic FoxPro for the interface and Visual FoxPro tables.

Maintaining our electronic filing programs with the IRS. These programs are a combination of Visual FoxPro and XML programming. The IRS requires the files to be in an XML format and we have used Visual FoxPro to manipulate the data and create the files.

CORE APPLICATION
Our core application is called IR20/20 and is written in Visual FoxPro. We have programmers on staff to support and train on the core application, but a new programmer would be expected to have enough of a Visual FoxPro background to also help with changes to the core application immediately.

E-FILING PRODUCT
Every year, we provide an e-filing service for clients whereby we take their data and submit it to the IRS in the proper format. This process uses Visual FoxPro for the data manipulation, then creates XML formats in a layout specified by the IRS. After the formats are created, the files are automatically uploaded to an IRS website using a utility we created.

Since the programs are already in place, we need someone capable of maintaining the programs and updating them as IRS specifications change.

Experience:

A minimum of 2-3 years of programming experience in FoxPro or Visual FoxPro.

XML, ASP and .NET experience a plus.
