NO RELOCATION, NO REMOTE WORK OPTION Job Description: This position is responsible for understanding and defining the implementation of OS, database and application monitoring in support of enterprise monitoring. This includes working with business analysts, technicians and customers to design, configure, and implement monitoring and integrate with the Netcool application to support the business needs.The ideal candidate will have 5+ year’s infrastructure experience with 2 years installing, configuring and administering various monitoring, notification, and event management tools.Having experience in a CMMI level 3+ organization is considered a plus.Position level is dependent on candidate’s level of experience. Essential Duties / Responsibilities · Assist in the design, planning, building and troubleshooting systems as a Nimsoft NMS subject matter expert. · Responsible for installation and maintenance of the Nimsoft NMS monitoring suite on all of ACS’ operating environments (development, test, staging, pre-production & production). · Provide leadership in the areas of operational support, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and patch/release management for all Nimsoft NMS tools. · Perform system and application setup/support and maintenance in conjunction with the regular scheduled maintenance related to the use of Nimsoft’s NMS tools within our enterprise environment. · Respond to emergency issues, root cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures. · Report on application performance, utilization and feature use based on requirements. · Provide technical assistance to IT Operations, Helpdesk and Business Applications in order to resolve production incidents. Primary Experience: · 2+ years combined experience with any - NetIQ/MOM/HP Openview - EMS tools · 5+ years infrastructure experience · 2+ years Server OS administration or Network Administration · Strong understanding of protocols and technologies utilized in monitoring, SNMPv2, SNMPv3, Syslog, MIBs, traps, etc. · Good understanding of ITIL Service Management processes · Demonstrated analytical thinking, adaptability, enthusiasm and motivation. · Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting · Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Secondary Experience: · Experience in Network, Security, Storage or other technical areas. · Test plan development · Coding/scripting experience (Perl, SQL, Shell, etc.) · Change Control, version control, build, and configuration management. · Experience with monitoring tools NetIQ, HP OpenView, MOM, Indicative, Nimsoft, or Splunk is considered a plus. · ITIL experience, certification preferred.
