Role: WebLogic Administrator
Role Description: The WebLogic Administrator would need to have experience with Siteminder (version 6) in a Windows environment. This Candidate would plan, design, implement, and support an application infrastructure platform and would have WLST, Jython, ANT, and IIS experience.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, implement, deploy, and support the Middleware infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the internal and external teams to create, review, and document implementation designs for new and the existing environments.
- Maintain and investigate performance improvement of J2EE applications effectively using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Evaluate Middleware products features, upgrades, and migration path.
- Implement Middleware infrastructure standards, best practices, and guidelines.
- Conduct Infrastructure configuration tests by developing test plans, scripts, and presenting results.
- Configure WebLogic Servers in a cluster solution with high availability, load balancing, and fail over architecture.
- Use of WLST, Jython, and ANT scripting tools to automate and monitor the WebLogic routine tasks.
- Troubleshoot various enterprise level software technology issues and provide root cause summary to stakeholders.
- Participate in the existing 24/7 On Call support rotation schedule.
- Conduct other project and tasks, directed by IT Management.
Required Experience:
- 5 plus years of experience in J2EE Applications and Middleware on primarily the Windows platform.
- WebLogic 8.x/10.x, Windows IIS Web Servers, Wily Intrascope, and Siteminder.
- Strong understanding of Middleware technologies and Infrastructure management.
- 4 plus years in Middleware administration specifically in WebLogic, IIS, LDAP, Wiley, Siteminder, and CSS.
- Strong WebLogic Administration with expertise in installation, configuration, tuning, and deploying applications on a Windows platform.
- Good working knowledge of Monitoring Tools such as Introscope, Solarwind Orion, and IP Monitor.
- Knowledge of Web Security tools - LDAP Server, SSL Certificates.
- Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends on short notice.
- Strong analytical skills and detail orientation and strong ability to communicate status or projects and system issues to other IT teams.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and allocate workload for optimum efficiency and maintain and transfer technical knowledge to others within the IT organization.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
