Our client is looking for a JAVA Developer to work out of their location in Texas on a six month contract.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to own all design and development aspects of a full implementation, and be able to take the product from concept to production through following high level tasks: analysis of requirements to drive further clarification; propose, define and document sound design/refactoring options and alternatives; develop application code and unit tests; integrate with our other applications as necessary; deliver integrated application components to Testing and Quality Assurance team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Research, design, develop, debug, test and integrate server-
based web service software for consumer electronic multi-
media audio/video products.
2. Develop viable system level proposals for server software designs
and maintain responsibility of them to functional, product-ready form.
3. Prototype and development of user interfaces for web-based
servers.
4. Proven skills in complete software life-cycle, including
requirements definition, system design, testing and development.
5. Proficient in web services programming languages and
paradigms, including Java, Web Objects, Servlets, Tomcat, SQL, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, AJAX, Spring.
6. Document systems for use by others and for technology transfer.

1. BS or MS CS/EE required
2. Minimum of 5 years experience designing server-based web
services.
3. Very strong and highly effective in web languages and methods;
HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, AJAX.
4. Capable in software programming languages; JAVA, C and C++
software programming skills with demonstrated projects that can be referenced.
5. Java the following: JDK 1.5, JSP, Servlets, JAXB, JSTL.
6. Server knowledge: Apache/Tomcat web server, JBOSS or JMS,
Glassfish.
7. Web technology knowledge: JavaScript, HTTP, HTML, SOAP,
WSDL, XML, Web Services.
8. Knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols (theoretical and
practical).
9. Relational database experience.
10. Capable in development of artwork utilizing Adobe Tools;
Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks.
11. Demonstrated ability to transform high level concepts into viable
system Architecture, requirements description and then develop a working software system.
12. Good communication skills and team contributor.
13. Experience with version control software such as SVN, CVS, etc.:
experience with IDE such as Eclipse.
14. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work across organizational boundaries.
15. Experience in designing and building scalable web services
using commodity hardware.
16. Proven success in delivering working solutions under tight dead-
lines.
