Amazon in Seattle is hiring Oracle DBAs Oracle DBA wanted in Seattle for the Ordering Team. Amazon does offer relocation assistance. The DBA will be responsible for: Day-to-day operations of fast-paced complex distributed database environments supporting primarily high volume OLTP Performance tuning at the database level SQL and PL/SQL tuning Review and recommendation of logical design Converting logical to physical design Backup and recovery (RMAN and traditional) On-call support during the day on weekdays and rotational on-call support during weekends Qualifications 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience on Unix/Linux Experience with Oracle 10g/11g for at least 1 to 2 years on Unix/Linux Extensive experience in data guard, advanced replication Strong working knowledge of Oracle DBA best practices (eg, schema management, index optimization, and use of hints) Strong query and database tuning skills Experience in a 24X7 production environment Capacity monitoring and management capabilities Experience in DR Extensive experience with high-volume OLTP database systems Extensive Unix Shell Scripting, PLSQL, and SQL skills Fast troubleshooting and resolution skills Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with DBA and application teams BS in computer science or related field Email Resume to (see below)
