JCPenney Information Technology has an opening for a ITCC Technical Specialist within Performance Mainframe Systems. The incumbent will Perform real-time monitoring, measuring, evaluating, and adjusting CPU systems, subsystems, and network resources, maintains and
adjusts systems and subsystems to achieve internal Information Technology performance standards, and completes project-oriented work concerning Information Technology operations.
**You must be able to work:
7pm-7am (Sun.-Tues. every other Sat.)mid Jan.-mid July
and
7pm-7am (Wed-Fri. every other Sat.)mid July-mid Dec.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitors and adjusts CPU systems, subsystems, and network resources on a proactive basis in real-time to acquire maximum
throughput and efficiency and ensure Company performance objectives are being met.
2. Identifies potential system or subsystem throughput or capacity related problems and communicates to appropriate parties to ensure
workload balance, and to achieve internal IT performance standards.
3. Investigates user response time problems and tunes systems when necessary to help maintain internal performance standards.
4. Performs stress testing, analyzes the results and makes changes as directed.
5. Performs projects to address operation needs.
6. Responsible for design and maintenance of critical mainframe system components, including IPL configurations, production catalog
maintenance, and critical production control libraries.
7. Performs 3rd level problem determination on critical outages concerning any mainframe, midrange, or network-related issue.
Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent work experience is required. A major in computer science preferred.
Experience: 5 - 6 years' data processing experience with a mastery of application problem resolution and operating systems and associated
platforms.
