Business Analyst / QA Analyst in Dallas, TX

THE POSITION:

Business Analyst/Quality Assurance Analyst

We are looking for a mature, team-oriented, energetic individual with a focus on servicing the customer. This individual will be responsible for supporting operational and technical initiatives related to business applications for personnel and business partners across the United States.

Principal responsibilities include:

Work with business and technical teams to plan and execute software testing activities; including
Identifying testing strategies and approaches
Creating test plans and schedules
Creating test scenarios and cases
Executing all phases of software testing
Coordinate testing activities, including technical/performance testing and user acceptance testing
Developing methods and metrics to report testing status

Work with business and technical teams to gather and document business and system requirements.
Work with team members to develop user interface and high-level design documents.
Provide leadership, consultation, advice, etc. to field businesses during application set-up and implementation of application features.
Manage productive relationships with both business leaders and business partners in order to gather customer-level input for product development initiatives.
Interface regularly with business leaders and other application development teams to understand business opportunities for information sharing.
Work with other application teams to facilitate development of integrated system enhancements.
Plan and implement the release/upgrades of applications to our company divisions and corporate office
Coordinate with divisions to schedule implementation/conversions
Prepare checklists to ensure proper processes are followed prior to and during cutover.
Travel up to 10% may be required


THE INDIVIDUAL:

The individual should have an undergraduate degree.

Qualifications include:

Minimum 3 years experience as a business analyst/QA analyst in a software development environment
Minimum of 3 years experience developing test plans, scenarios, creating and executing test plans
Minimum of 3 years experience gathering and creating business and systems requirements documents (including but not limited to process flow diagrams, schematics etc.)
Experience with testing tools such from vendors such as Mercury, Segue or Compuware.
Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and specific experience with business requirement methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
Experience working with multiple management levels to investigate business process, understand business needs, and provide technical solutions to those needs
Experience with classical project management methodologies and their benefit to business.
Proficient user of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
Industry experience in home building is a benefit.
Familiarity with testing software is a benefit.
