Sr. Natural Adabas Programmer / Analyst in Dallas, TX

This position will require gaining an understanding of the Maintenance Business area to work with the Customers in determining if application issueshave appropriate work arounds or will require emergency implementations to resolve.

This individual is expected to facilitate requirements gathering sessions and interviews, document and organize requirements, assist in the design, coding and implementation of the solutions following the appropriate levels of the corporate Methodology.

This person will also be part of a 24 X 7 on-call rotation.
This person must have a proven track record of creative problem solving and the creation quality code written in Natural against Adabas DBMS.

They must work well in a Team environment and interface professionally with our Technology Teams and Customers.

The position is responsible for delivering new business functionality to the existing applications. The Team is also responsible for 24 X 7,365 days a year day to day support of the application. We also continually try to improvements the performance, reliability and data integrity of the applications.

Experience: Minimum 7 to 10 years for the following skills:
ADABAS experience

NATURAL PROGRAMMING (both on-line and batch)

MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Requirements gathering and documentation
Data Analysis

Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis Skills
Ability to develop time estimates for project schedules, monitor progress and provide accurate and timely reports using the corporate Methodology

Minimum of 10 to 15 years IT experience and all the following skills:
Experience working through all phases of the System Development Life Cycle
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well with Customers at all levels (Leadership and Non-Leadership) and proven success doing so
Ability to work well with other Technology Teams and proven success doing so
Strong Leadership skills and demonstrated success using skills
Ability and willingness to mentor others
Ability to multi-task
Ability to develop creative solutions to unique problems that meet established evironment standards.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS (these are a plus)

Working knowledge of Predict
Working knowledge of Natural system files FDIC and FUSER as well as Natural user exits in SYSEXT
An understanding of TRIM
An understanding of SmartTS
Understanding of Software AG's EntireX suite
Experience/Exposure to middleware including MQ Series, Tibco EMS or other JMS and Corba
Familiarity with Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Concepts
Working knowledge of Cobol and Java
