WebSphere/CORBA Engineer in Dallas, TX

This position is an outstanding opportunity for a WebSphere/CORBA Engineer to work with one of our leading clients. You will join a seven-member team responsible for installation, modification, configuration, and support for WebSphere and Orbix. Participate as a member of various software development projects as the infrastructure contact for the development team.

3+ years of experience as a J2EE Server Engineer is required, along with strong WebSphere 6.x and CORBA Application Server experience. Demonstrated success with WebSphere Application Server Development Studio (WSAD) or Eclipse, and a working knowledge of enterprise web applications and supporting technologies such as firewalls, routing, load balancing and single sign on is needed. You must have strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to methodically identify and resolve complex issues in the web services environment. The ability to communicate highly complex technical issues with others in the organization at various technical skill levels and the ability to work in a cross functional team and interact with technical people across the department is important. Experience with monitoring tools such as HP OpenView, capacity planning and performance management skills and Apache administration skills are preferred. Desired skills include: Middleware layers such as webMethods, Tibco ESB, Sonic ESB, Solaris, Linux, and Tibco EMS or IBM MQSeries messaging middleware. UNIX administration experience in a production environment and certification as a WAS Administrator are pluses. An understanding of Oracle databases is beneficial. This position required on-call pager rotation every seven weeks.
