Description
Our client's system department provides support for all computer systems as well as develops and deploys application software. They also provide services and support for our user community including external customers. Using the VB, C++, C#, ASP or ASP.NET, (additional use of HTML, JAVA script and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for web development) develop two and three-tier web and rich client applications utilizing Visual Studio 6.0 and/or VS.NET for:
. maintaining and displaying system configuration, project management, and time management data and/or
. developing applications that interact with existing 3rd party COM+ components and/or
. maintaining and displaying system configuration, project management, and time management data and/or
. displaying system-wide configuration values and performance statistics and/or
. deploying code and controlling, monitoring and logging system-wide configuration settings.
Responsibilities
Using VB, C++, C#, ASP or ASP.NET, develop two and three-tier web and rich client applications utilizing Visual Studio 6.0 and/or VS.NET for:
. maintaining and reporting financial securities based information for clients and for firm defined processes and/or
. developing applications that interact with existing 3rd party COM+ components and/or
. maintaining and displaying system configuration, project management, and time management data and/or
. displaying system-wide configuration values and performance statistics and/or
. deploying code and controlling, monitoring and logging system-wide configuration settings.
. Together with the lead programmer and Business Analyst, develop and agree on the functional requirements for each project undertaken. Provide any analyses required to develop functional requirements from business requirements.
. Proactively plan and execute the project from start to finish, ensuring that the program meets the highest standards of quality and adheres to the programmers' development standards.
. Provide support for the existing installed application base, including any troubleshooting and debugging required.
. As necessary, provide on-call support for the existing installed application base.
. Become acquainted with the applications development developer's guidelines and standards.
. Develop and maintain good working relationships with business analysts and customers.
Qualifications
. Team-oriented can-do attitude with good communication skills.
. Degree or relevant qualification in computer science or a minimum of 3 to 5 years programming experience in developing distributed applications.
. A minimum of 2 years securities industry related experience
. SQL skills and experience with as many of the following: VB, C++, C#, ASP or ASP.NET.
. Experience in MSSQL transact-SQL would be a real advantage.
