The project will require an engineer to use our existing management tools (Control Center and Deploy) and implement the requirements necessary to implement a highly-available system that is activated by customer action. This will involve changes to existing client code, implementation of a Deploy "job" to cause system reconfiguration, configuration and validation of Sybase Replication, and the integration testing of the system. The applications use Java, and will run on a Windows Server 2003 host operating system.The Candidate should be a software engineer with 3-5 years of OOA/D experience or more. Experience: The candidate must be able to display mastery of the following skills (in order of most to least importance):. Familiarity with Sybase ASE (12.5.3) and with Sybase replication. Java (J2SE) development . Experience with Highly-available system concepts and practices (like Red Hat clustering). Windows Server 2003. General Java development, debug and content management tools. Eclipse . Subversion . Web development (JSP) . Database (JDBC) . Tomcat, HTML, CSS, XML, and Web Portals. The candidate should have general experience with developing and debugging distributed applications. The candidate should have a good knowledge of configuration management practices, development and execution of integration test plans. The candidate should be able to do configuration and troubleshooting of PC-based hardware. The candidate should have "good to very good" verbal and written communication skills.
