SQL Server Database Developer in Dallas, TX

Sr. SQL Server Database Developer, Report Developer/Analyst and DBA. Overview Senior hands-on database and report developer analyst/DBA will play a critical role in building and maintaining best in class database and reporting platform for various equity and credit strategies. Responsibilities and expectations include: o Quickly ramp-up business and technical understanding of current core database, data processing, and reporting platform o Work with peers and end-users to analyze reporting and data mining requirements o Propose tactical and strategic solutions and improvements that will provide superior value and competitive advantage o Design, develop, integrate, test, document, and support all solutions according to firm's development process o Work closely with dev team to ensure maximum efficiency and high consistency of designs o Deliver accurate, successful, and timely solutions o Actively report status to all appropriate users, peers, and IT management o Recommend general process and platform improvements to IT management o Build strong positive relationships and rapport with all team members, supervisors, and users o Display alacrity and leadership in work ethic, drive for excellence, teamwork, communication, and integrity Must have someone experience hedge fund industry or related. Requirements Skills and experience required: o 10 years experience as database developer, DBA, report writer, and business analyst working in fast-paced hedge fund environment in both front- and back- office areas covering both equity and fixed income/credit products. o Strong business understanding of typical hedge fund operational reports and data including P&L and performance measures, risk management and typical aggregations, positions, transactions, counter-parties. o Excellent hands-on complete development lifecycle skills (SQL, DBA, .NET, VBA, Excel) o Excellent creativity, problem solving, issue-resolution, and people skills o Excellent verbal and written communication skills that non-technical end users can understand o Minimum 4-year technical degree at leading university Pluses: o Experience in OLAP, SQL Analysis Services, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence (BI) Salary: Competitive Base Bonus Relocation: Will assist in moving expenses.
