Position DetailsThe chosen candidate will manage the Network Architecture group comprised of data and transport engineers. Plan, design and maintain robust IP, TDM, and DWDM optical networks in the metro and access space supporting voice, data, and video services for residential and commercial customers. Manage network capacity and planned growth additions in a programmed fashion leading to maximum network availability, minimum stranded capacity, and optimum job sizing and timing.ResponsibilitiesProvide tactical and strategic leadership in the planning, design, implementation, and performance of converged network infrastructure to support all voice, data, video and commercial services.Provide leadership to a team of data and transport engineers. Manage the introduction of new network technologies and define operational and support requirements ensuring a seamless integration.Troubleshoot complex network related problems escalated from the NOC/SOC and analyze chronic network related problems determining root cause and recommend and implement approved solutions.Analyze SOC technical procedures and make process improvement recommendations leading to shorter MTTR times.Manage network capacity and the impact of new network features and services for data, voice and video products.Participate in assessing and testing emerging technologies related to providing telecommunications services including voice, data and video to business, institutional and residential customers over fiber optic and HFC based network architectures.BEST INDUSTRY – CommunicationsBEST DEPARTMENT – IT Experience: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.5 years of demonstrated expertise in architecting telecom networks.High level of technical, architectural, and solutions knowledge and the demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple detail-oriented projects is required.Current on technology, standards and specifications related to IP, Ethernet, TDM, DWDM, SONET, Psuedowire, fiber optic transmission systems, local area networks, signaling systems, network management, and related telecommunications systems.Strong knowledge of network standards and practices including IEEE, IETF, ISO, ITU-T, SCTE, and Cablelabs is required.3 years experience in supervising employees directly or indirectly.Strong hands-on technical knowledge of telephony and data operations, products and services is mandatory.
