Lead Cisco Network Engineer in Dallas, TX

Modis is currently seeking a qualified Lead Cisco Network Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with our client in the Dallas, TX area. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Lead Cisco Network Engineer will be providing Tier 4 configuration and technical support for a variety of Federal customers. Day to day activities will be to provide root-cause analysis, problem isolation/determination and high-end technical support for complex issues related to LAN/WAN Networks, MPLS (Core & Edge), Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches and some security/Firewall devices. The position requires a very strong background in Cisco Data Networking with practical hands-on experience troubleshooting complex issues with MPLS technologies. This Senior-level role will also involve supporting the overall network infrastructure through network traffic management, network performance analysis, network capacity analysis and future network capacity planning. Tools include: Ethereal, Wireshark, Sniffers, SolarWinds, HP Openview, QoS, Load Balancers The candidate for this role must also be equipped to handle business consulting in the areas of Change Management, Network Traffic Analysis, Network Performance Management, Capacity Planning and Network Diagnostics. A minimum of 7-10 years experience and an active Cisco CCNP Certification are mandatory requirements. Candidates with a CCIE Written or Lab Certification are highly preferred. Please note that due to the Federal customer requirements, candidates MUST be a US Citizen with the eligibility to obtain government security clearance REQUIRED SKILLS - Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 7-10 years experience - Active CCNP Certification or higher - Expert hands-on experience with Cisco Routers and Switches - Advanced experience in troubleshooting MPLS - Strong Network Management and Analysis skills (Traffic & Capacity performance analysis) - Exceptional professional skills (communication, project leadership, documentation, etc) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & HOW TO APPLY This position is expected to start immediately and last for an initial duration of 12 months with a high likelihood of long-term contract extension.
