The Sr. Quality Assurance Specialist leads the development and implementation of quality assurance programs to ensure all information systems products and services meet company standards and end-user requirements..
Role/Responsibility: Testware Development: Leads development of test plans covering the major components of the software (e.g. update process, graphic user interfaces, batch processes, reporting). Creates test data matching the requirements of the test plan and executes tests based on the plan. SOP's: Ensures QA and testing procedures are carried out in efficient manner and follows department standards. Assumes the lead in defining, developing and implementing department standards and procedures. Project Execution/Mgmt: Develops and meets milestones and timelines for projects for QA function and junior QA staff. Documentation: Documents results of tests, logs problems into the defect tracking system. Responsible for the execution of processes or systems for verification and defect detection purposes. Communication: Assumes the lead in answering questions from the end user community about system functionality, listening to and addressing area of concerns. Assumes responsibility for coordinating the system modifications and enhancements from the QA environment to Production. Knowledge Sharing: Assists developers in understanding the needs of the client and end users. Mentors less experienced members of the department in testing methodology and procedures. Process Improvement: Suggests ways to improve the processes and methodologies currently in use by the QA department.
Requirements: 1. Minimum requirements include 2+ years experience with QA activities (i.e. creation of test plans and data, executing processes against the test plan, defect tracking, etc.) 2. Working knowledge of PC-Windows and Unix environments 3. Solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 4. Understanding of software development lifecycle 5. Knowledge of RDBMS 6. Knowledgeable in the vocabulary and concepts of information technology 7. Knowledge of automated testing software/concepts is desirable 8. Experience in project management 9. Understanding of defect management principles and in defect management software 10. ETL Tools Experience(Informatica) a plus 11. Data Hygiene experience (address standardization, merge/purge) a plus 12. Business Intelligence (Business Objects, SAS, etc.) and Query Tools (Brio) Experience a plus 13. Campaign Management Experience (Unica, PeopleSoft, etc) a plus
