Duration: 7 MonthsBasic Function:Under supervision, this position is responsible for: Providing testing and research support in system changes and enhancements; Executing system test cases and verifying the accuracy of the test results; Reviewing test results with the appropriate user departments and ensuring theirunderstanding of the results; Identifying defects in testing, documenting those defects, monitoring and retesting their resolutions; Conducting departmental training related to system changes; Performing both manual and automated testing; Translating user needs into business requirements; Translating business requirements into test cases that would cover the broad spectrum of test situations (positive, negative, range, attribute, limit); Interacting with business areas and developers throughout the life cycle of system changes toensure a thorough project scope (with help from senior testing coworkers); Working independently, within parameters, and with testing coworkers; Learning the business and system processes of assigned applications.Required Skills:1. Two years of experience in system testing and basic knowledge of general systemcapabilities.2. Possess knowledge of 3 or more forms of system testing methods.3. Possess effective and written communication skills to interact with business users, fellowtesters, and developers.4. Have the ability to work independently and within a team environment.5. Be detailed-oriented as well as able to understand the "Big Picture".6. Must have demonstrated good initiative, organizational skills, analytical abilities, and desire toexcel.7. Have demonstrated some leadership experience.8. Able to translate user needs to business requirements and test cases.9. Ability to write and execute simple to moderate detailed test plans and test cases.10. Experience in working with pro! grammers and translating business requirements.11. Ability to main tain project plans and develop test documentation.12. Experience in testing mainframe, client-server, and Web applications.Preferred Skills:1. Have familiarity with entry and procedure codes as well as processing guidelines andprocedures for claims, or membership, or other automated processing systems.2. Demonstrated testing experience on both "in-house" written and vendor-supplied packages.3. Demonstrated testing experience on applications requiring interfaces between systems.4. Demonstrated testing experience on applications requiring "historical" data migration.5. Have working knowledge of HMO processing systems or other health-related processingsystems and their related business needs and functions.6. Experience testing all types of contracts and benefits.7. Ability to write and execute moderate to complex detailed test plans and test cases.8. Ability to analyze moderate to complex test results.Business Justification:*Additional testing resources for a short period of time to help with the first phase of testing.
