JCPenney Information Technology has an immediate opening for a Production Specialist within Telecommunications Support. The incumbent provides analysis and diagnostic services for all problems encountered with company network implementations, including national infrastructure network to local LAN's, and supports a variety of network solutions for issues with the latest technologies to Legacy network implementations.

You must be able to work any shift of:
Days
Mon.-Fri.7:00-15:30 or 08:00 - 16:30

Or

Mon.,Tues.,Wed. and every other Sunday-7:00-19:00

Or

Thurs.,Fri.,Sat. & every other Sunday 7:00-19:00)

Nights

Sun.,Mon.,Tues. and every other Sat. night-19:00-7:00

or
Wed.,Thurs.,Fri. and every other Sat.night-19:00-7:00


Responsibilities:
1. Performs analysis, diagnostics, and problem determination on all telecommunications problems, documents the problem, and enacts the problem resolution or short-term circumvention.
2. Provides diagnostic services for network-related hardware, including IGX switches, routers, hubs, modems, etc., and addresses a vast array of problems crossing many different applications and technology platforms in an extremely complex network environment.
3. Determines the appropriate problem resolution based on an understanding of the client's needs.
4. Identifies recurring problems, performs root cause analysis and takes corrective action.
5. Escalates problem to next level of experience or appropriate department or area.
6. Notifies and communicates problems to others in a timely manner.
7. Performs complex installations for telecommunication related changes.
8. Documents first level problem determination steps as they occur.


Qualifications:

1. A college degree or equivalent work experience is required. A major in computer science preferred.
2. 4 - 5 years of related data processing experience and a mastery of telecommunication problem resolution.
3. Core Competencies: Analytical and problem solving skills, working knowledge of telecommunications components, and of major telecommunications platforms, hardware and software tools, customer service skills, written and oral communications, working knowledge of LAN concepts, familiarity with electronic mail, PC and peripheral hardware, and familiarity with Windows.
