We are currently seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join and support our North American Sales team. You will provide support to the sales team in pursuit of Enterprise Data Management opportunities.
Description
Your primary responsibilities include gaining prospects' technical recommendation to develop new business or extend existing customers business relationship with Firm. You will help drive enterprise-level business across a diverse product-line by performing a variety of tasks including: product overviews, customized presentations and demonstrations, solution design, potential application surveys, proposal development, product evaluations and product feature/benefit discussions. You will also be assisting with developing service engagement proposals and be required to assist in using ROI-based justification techniques.
Qualifications
Specialized knowledge and proficiency with a major open system operating system (UNIX or NT) and MVS experience.
DBMS/SQL knowledge with at least one major DBMS platform.
Previous DBA skills and experience with test data preparation (and ideally data-masking) combined with knowledge of an overall application development lifecycle.
Strong understanding of storage environments, familiarity with reporting tools and general connectivity in multi-platform enterprise environments. General competitive positioning knowledge is essential.
Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as effective human relations skills, a proactive approach to the sales process and professional presentation skills are required.
Team player capable of working as part of a group to formulate pre and post sales account strategies.
Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to travel up to 100%
Ideal additional skills include:
Experience with XML/JDBC/ODBC
Mainframe experience involving DB2
- Previous experience with archiving tools and techniques
