Senior Network Engineer / IP Network Architect in Dallas, TX

Deliver the architecture and engineering of a global MPLS network

Resolve escalated trouble tickets; diagnose and resolve network issues and hardware failures

Perform root cause analysis for network issues and implement a fix

Make recommendations on network improvements, changes and expansion including routing policy, network architecture, customer policies, new products and equipment selection

Work with Product Management to design, develop and deploy new product offerings

Research new technologies and equipment, develop technical specifications and services, help draft service level agreements

Develop and publish standards for network configuration, including routing architecture, traffic engineering, configuration standards, inter- and intra POP topology, peering policies and guidelines for maintenance activities

Generate documentation for new technologies

Assist in the establishment and maintenance of engineering standards and procedures

Assist in vendor and equipment supplier selection
Experience: REQUIRED:

Bachelors Degree, preferably Networking or Electrical Engineering

Excellent English

5 years network experience supporting MPLS/IP/VPN network in a carrier environment

Expert knowledge of BGP

Expert knowledge of OSPF

Expert knowledge of MPLS

Expert knowledge of VPN

Expert knowledge of VPLS

Expert knowledge of VOIP

Expert knowledge of TCP/IP

Expert knowledge of LAN

Expert knowledge of WAN

Expert knowledge of Ethernet

Expert knowledge of Optical

Expert knowledge of Alcatel/Nortel (Tasman) equipment

Expert knowledge of Cisco and Juniper routing equipment

Expert knowledge of Internet Routing

PREFERRED:

Cisco and Juniper Certifications a plus

Experience interfacing with a laboratory environment and QA Engineering and Operations
