General Description The Business Intelligence Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for definition, design and deployment of all components of a Business Intelligence tool set. The Business Intelligence Architect is also an expert in the design and deployment of the infrastructure components for the tool suite. Cognos 8 Infrastructure Architect Requirements Experience in Cognos 8 infrastructure design and deployment to support medium & large user bases. Designs the BI architecture foundation to support requirements for fail over, load balancing, web, firewall, high availability, infrastructure security and capacity planning. Expert on production configuration and installation. Expert on migration issues. Cognos 8 BI Architect Requirements Determines required Cognos 8 components to meet user requirements and technical standards. Responsible for design of "standard" Cognos 8 infrastructure to meet typical performance requirements. Proven expertise and project experience involving conversion and migration from Cognos Series 7 components to Cognos 8 environment. Expertise in creation of framework manager models to support all components of the Cognos 8 suite using best practices. Understands and develops best practices for design, development and deployment of Cognos tool suite across analysis studio, report studio and query studio. Creates Cognos 8 models, cubes, frameworks and reports as needed. Mentors junior developers in Business Intelligence perspective and tools. Expertise in Cognos ReportNet SDK and integration with other web applications. Expertise in integrating tools at an application level. Experience with metrics studio and event studio is desirable. Candidates can work out of any of these cities: Dallas, Houston or Tulsa. Other Requirements Participate in significant customer-facing activities around requirements gathering, reporting proof-of-concepts, and demonstrations. Assist in documentation of user requirements. Prepare and present materials to customer and industry audiences related to Stonebridge BI capabilities.
