Infrastructure Management Analyst

An intermediate to senior level professional, the Infrastructure Management Analyst is a fully qualified individual contributor who applies a broad knowledge of systems programming/analysis concepts, practices and procedures. Incumbents are competent to work on fairly complex assignments (and/or portions of more large, complex systems) and perform a standard range of system operations activities. The incumbent generally works under deadlines and is capable of handling heavy workloads, operating with only general supervision, although errors at this level can cause delay, expense and/or disruption. May provide functional guidance to less experienced staff. Provides functional and technical expertise to formulate computer system scope and objectives develops and/or modifies procedures to solve problems using information systems. Prepares documentation for computer operations/programs sequencing, performs multiple software functions and supports hardware platforms. Assignments are in technical, scientific and business functional areas.

representative PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Develops documentation including the use of flowcharts, project specifications, diagrams to translate user requirements into programming language; develops/modifies illustrations of program sequences necessary to meet user requirements.

Analyzes new and existing vendor software; provides installation, maintenance and customization of vendor software as required.

Develops and recommends alternative programming approaches to realize desired specifications and/or enhancements based on user requirements. Performs feasibility studies, life cycle analysis and/or cost/benefit studies.

Consults with end user to identify current operations procedures and clarify program objectives.

Monitors computer program performance to detect errors; applies testing procedures/methodologies (e.g., diagnostic software) and provides interpretation of data.

Provides input during client strategic planning (as required) as part of technical expertise.

May provide guidance to and assist in the training of less experienced staff; provides hardware/software training as required.

Maintains industry/technical knowledge base and facilitates/maintains industry relationships.

Demonstrates commitment to providing customer-focused quality service.

Education and Typical Years of Experience

A Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible related technical experience, including at least 1year computer/systems design experience in a large-scale computer/systems environment.

Special Requirements
Candidate must have experience supporting Windows server platforms in an enterprise class environment, with MCSE 2003 certification strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge of a number of the following technologies: IBM servers, Microsoft Clustering, Active Directory, Symantec Anti-Virus, ECM, TSM and other system support tools needed.

This position will require an individual who is a self-starter, detail oriented, and has the ability to work with little or no direct supervision. This position does require some after hours on-call and weekend work.
