Genesis10 is in need of an SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) on a contract-to-hire basis for a major client in Irving, Texas.
This DBA will work on a team with other DBA's in a high transaction environment managing 20+ existing 2000 and 2005 SQL Server database environments ranging in size up to 500 GB. They will co-manage existing databases and oversee database requests and code deployment to development, quality assurance and production environments. The DBA's provide 24x7 support for all production environments which requires participation in on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Manage database requests and code deployment to all environments.
- Administration of Transactional Replication.
- Create and Execute DTS and SSIS packages.
- Share in On Call' duties responding to support calls promptly.
- Responsible for ensuring SQL service availability is maintained.
- Responsible for integrity and recoverability of databases..
- Ensure databases are operating efficiently and at maximum performance.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting on service performance, errors and alarms.

Experience: Required Experience/Skills:
- 7 + years database administration experience (SQL Server) in both development and production environment.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills required.
- Must be a team player with good communication skills and a can-do attitude.

- MySQL knowledge a plus.
