Job Responsibilities:
Perot Systems is seeking a Configuration Specialist to support the Xcelys application. This person must have demonstrated strong abilities in configuring multiple modules of claims payment systems for healthcare payers, such as benefits or pricing. The configuration specialist is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements from the operations and client teams. The specialist implements changes in Xcelys through system configuration or workflow implementation. Responsibilities include design documentation, testing configuration, obtaining client approval and post production validation. Duties also include writing and running queries to extract data directly from the Xcelys database to identify claims for adjustment, identify needed system updates, or to prepare data to load directly into the system. The configuration specialist documents policies, procedures, decisions made, and obtains client approval of the decisions. The configuration specialist tracks requests, both internal and client generated, reports status on the requests, responds to questions regarding the system configuration, documenting procedures and testing results.
The Configuration Specialist works closely with the other members of the configuration team, the client and the operations team. Other general duties include: serving as the customer interface for application support and evaluating proposed product functionality.
Excellent customer interface skills and the ability to effectively communicate with department leaders are required. Ability to function independently and as a team player. A self starter - must be able to multi-task and handle multiple ongoing projects. Candidate must demonstrate tenacity for application problem-solving and a solid work ethic.
Required Skills:
4+ yrs payer system configuration, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility for multiple system modules
3+ yrs provider contract configuration or benefits configuration
3+ yrs experience with interpreting schedules of benefits, pricing contract arrangements, capitation agreements, premium rate structures using industry standard coding, including CPTs and ASCs, to guide configuration decisions
2+ yrs experience with a data extract tool
Application troubleshooting and strong analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of database table structure and data types
Advanced skills on Microsoft Word and Excel
Desired Skills:
3+ yrs healthcare business background in configuring multiple modules in DIAMOND 950 or Xcelys
Experience analyzing claims for billing trends for configuration solutions
Strong math skills
Strong Excel skills, using functions and formulas
PL/SQL Developer or similar experience for analyzing system data
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
