Data Center Manager in Dallas, TX

Downtown company is seeking an experienced Data Center Manager to join their team on a full time basis. The Data Center Manager is responsible for the successful operation of all Windows, Sun, and AS400 operational activities. This key position will be directly responsible for establishing and cultivating a positive and professional work environment to ensure maximum uptime and availability of all services provided to the end user community. Additionally, this position is responsible for ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the backend systems. The Data Center manager will provide recommendations and solutions by understanding the needs of the customer, improve NOC processes and update the NOC Standard Operating Procedures when necessary, participate in network operations acceptance meetings and development of the operations acceptance guidelines and more. The Data Center Manager should be familiar with all operating systems employed in the data center, monitoring both system and network through the use of various network management and monitoring. Experience: Requirements include either an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Equivalent education and experience considered.
5+ years of relative work experience managing server operations staff in an outsourced environment and 3+ years experience in IT problem/issue management and change management in a dynamic IT environment required. Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals including Microsoft Windows services, storage management, hardware and software failover technologies, email, web services, data backup and restoration services, server performance monitoring, trending, management and reporting required. Experience with IBM AS400/3x, Windows 2000 Server, SUN Servers, Citrix, Exchange, Active Directory, VMWare and SAN systems required.
